Capitol Hill, the East Precinct Advisory Council sent over its agenda for this Thursday’s community meeting. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Here’s why:

The East Precinct Command Staff will be giving updatesand answering your questions about the recent shooting at 22nd and Union and shots fired near 23rd and Union and 12th and Jefferson.
Also, Matt York, our City Attorney Precinct Liaison, will also give an update about the status of Waid’s nightclub.
Our featured topic for the evening will be pedestrian safety, with guest Jim Curtin, Seattle Department of Transportation’s Traffic Safety Coordinator. For more than 10 years, Jim has worked on a wide range of safety matters from pedestrian safety to educational outreach and from Safe Routes to School to traffic calming. Jim can provide guidance to individuals interested in speed reduction measures and act as a conduit between residents and SDOT.
We will also have a brief presentation from the Madison Park Community Council, who will give a brief presentation of their citizen advocacy work for improved pedestrian safety at the intersection near 4009 East Madison.
