It’s official: for-hire transportation and ridesharing services in Seattle have been limited to 150 drivers on the road each at any given time. The Seattle City Council voted the legislation into law on March 17, along with updated regulations about fees and operations for licensed taxis. The vote came after a month of heavy debate and an attempt by several companies impacted by the limit to improve their insurance coverage to demonstrate the safety of their cars and drivers.
Are you under 18? Do you like to tan in tanning beds? Well, your habit is set to get much more expensive for companies that still want your business (and it will be technically illegal). Governor Jay Inslee is expected to sign a bill into law soon that would make it illegal for minors to use tanning beds, instituting a fine to companies of $250 for every violation.
