Let’s say that one of my friends was scheduled to come over for an early lunch, but I accidentally hit the snooze button one too many times and ended up with less than two hours to shower and prepare something magnificent (I said that this is hypothetical, right?). Not all hope is lost.
Bartelett pears are sweet enough to count as dessert without any manipulation, but sprinkling them with a bit of crumble and popping them into the oven for a couple dozen minutes takes it and you to the next level.
This recipe can easily be doubled, quadruples, and so on, using one pear per serving.
- 2 bartelett pears, peeled and chopped
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon oatmeal
- 1. Place pears in the bottom of a custard cup (1 pear per pot), and bake at 360º F (180º C) for 15 minutes.
- 2. Mix butter, brown sugar and oatmeal into a crumble, then sprinkle evenly over pears. Return to the oven and bake at 360º F (180º C) for 15 minutes. Serve hot.
