“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon.” - Dr. Seuss
Have you noticed the jack-o’-lanterns and black-orange décor materializing along Broadway? It’s coming. On October 26, Hilloween returns.
Presented by the Capitol Hill Chamber of Commerce, this one-afternoon event – a Halloween carnival for all ages – takes over Cal Anderson Park with DJs, ghost stories, free slices of pizza awarded to kids who come dressed in costume, and the Chaotic Noise Marching Band leading a parade of Trick or Treaters through the park. That’s only the tip of the iceberg.
The fanfare also includes game booths, a bouncy house, face painting, juggling lesson, and enough bonbons to quench your sweet tooth through the holiday season (cotton candy and ice cream, anyone?).
Hilloween happens from 12 to 3:30 p.m., and is followed by friendly trick-or-treating with local merchants along Broadway. For more information and to see a schedule of events, visit www.caphilloween.com.
