“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before it's afternoon.” - Dr. Seuss
Forget the Duck and Seattle Underground tour. Next month, The Capitol Hill Community Council will lead its first walking tour that will venture into historic apartment buildings along 15th Avenue. Leading the tour is Diana James, the author of “Shared Walls: Seattle Apartment Buildings 1900 – 1939.” She’ll march the group through sites that differ in age, size and style, and then speak to what prompted the developments as well as the architects that are responsible for them, and who lived there.
Not only is this a way to zoom-in on some of the neighborhood’s unique history, it’s also a good excuse to snack on French pastry (wait, what?), since the tour kicks off across from Bakery Nouveau.
