Saint Patrick’s Day this Sunday calls for Irish Whiskey Soda Bread.
The traditional recipe only asks for baking soda, flour, soured milk and salt. And while I am all for tradition, there are times when you need to mix it up. In this case, I soaked raisins in whiskey overnight and added orange zest to the batter. What you get is a fluffy loaf that has a hint of orange flavor. It’s incredibly good, to the point that I ate half of it in one sitting. Enjoy!
