“The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way.” - William Blake

The “Queen of Nightlife” is at it again. Linda Derschang will open another bar and restaurant, Bait Shop, at 606 Broadway East sometime in November.
“Bait Shop will be more on the Linda’s/King’s side of the family then Oddfellows and Smith,” Derschang said.
If that is the case, then you can probably expect at least one wall of wood paneling and – considering Bait Shop’s more nautical theme – maybe some singing fish. One can only hope. Speaking of the name, Derschang said, “It references both to our dive bar roots as well as the nautical elements in its decor.”
When it comes to the food and bar menu, there will be scratch cocktails, frozen pina coladas, fish and chips and a serious fried chicken sandwich. There will also be six beers on tap along with an assortment of cans and bottles.
“There are a lot of great businesses on the north end of Broadway that have opened in the last few years. We are excited to explore this emerging area of Capitol Hill”
And you can bet your bottom dollar, the end of Broadway is just as excited to have the Bait Shop there.
